A man identified as Ikenna Asiegbu has been arrested by Police operatives in Anambra State for allegedly beating his 22-year-old girlfriend, Chidimma Christopher, to death in Urutolu village, Mgbakwu axis of the state.
According to the report gathered, the suspect attacked the deceased who has a six-month-old child for him on Saturday, she collapsed and was rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
Ikenga said, “On Saturday, we received information that the suspect beat and murdered the victim in his house at Mgbakwu. The victim was rescued and rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
“Meanwhile, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation. Further development shall be communicated please.”
